Other Opportunities in New York Harbor

There are lots of exciting things going on in New York Harbor.  Here are a few to check out.

Learn to Sail - Every weekend, Manhattan Sailing School teaches Basic Sailing.  It's a great course for adults and every weekend, more and more people join the sailing lifestyle.  You can get all the information about classes and sign up at www.sailmanhattan.com
Corporate Team Building and Corporate Regattas - Each summer, many companies do teambuilding programs, corporate regattas and other events at the Manhattan Sailing Club.  For a PowerPoint which explains all the programs, please send an email to info@sailmanhattan.com.
Visit the Clubhouse in the Harbor - Manhattan Sailing Club has a wonderful floating clubhouse in the harbor.  This is the best place to watch the evening races.  The clubhouse is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons.  The clubhouse's capacity is 149 passengers and when it is not full, sailing enthusiasts from the public are invited to visit and see the harbor from this unique perspective. Transportation to and from the clubhouse is $10 round trip and provided by Admiral's Launch, a 40-foot former Navy powerboat which departs from North Cove Dock F.  http://myc.org/Clubhouse/default.htm
Free Rides for Kids - Every weekend, Project City Kids provides free rides in the harbor to kids.  The name of the vessel is "Big Toot" and she departs on the hour from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Rides last 50 minutes and pass by the Statue of Liberty.  The cost for kids is FREE and each adult is requested to make a $10 contribution.  Kids must be accompanied by an adult and each adult can bring up to 6 kids.  Details will be posted soon at www.projectcitykids.com
